An 8-year-old girl has been missing since Monday evening from her Southeast Portland home, police say.
The Portland Police Bureau’s missing person’s unit on Tuesday morning said Imani Hamlet’s family reported the girl missing at about 11 p.m. She was last seen leaving on a bike ride from her family’s home in the 15100 block of Southeast Stark Street.
Police said family members saw Hamlet between 5 and 6 p.m. riding her bicycle with a child whom they did not recognize. Family members told police that Hamlet often rides her bicycle until sunset.
The girl is described as 4-feet tall and 100 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink or purple top, dark-colored jeans and brown leather sandals.
Hamlet’s bicycle is pink with white fenders and tires. It has a white flower-adorned seat.
Investigators request that anyone who sees Hamlet call 9-1-1. Anyone with non-emergency information is asked to call Detective Heidi Helwig at 503-823-0797 or contact her by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
