PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN 6) — A 24-year-old Washington man was arrested earlier this week for the death of a woman found in the stairwell of Portland’s DoubleTree Hotel, a Portland Police Bureau official has confirmed.
Tae Bum Yoon, of Bellevue, was taken into PPB custody after arriving in Portland by train, according to bureau spokesman Sgt. Pete Simpson.
Ashley Benson’s body was found at the Lloyd Center hotel the morning of Dec. 26. Portland police later announced their belief that Benson, whose death was ruled a homicide, was a victim of sex trafficking.
Police have not indicated how Benson died.
Yoon was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on Thursday and is scheduled to be arraigned at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
