Burn ban effective immediately in Portland, Multnomah County – kgw.com
PORTLAND, Ore. — Portland fire chief Erin Janssens declared a burn ban in the city of Portland and all of Multnomah County effective immediately Friday night.
Open fires of any kind, including ceremonial fires and bonfires. Fireworks and tiki torches are also included in the ban, Lt. Tommy Schroeder said.
Barbecues with charcoal briquettes are still allowed.
The hot, dry conditions along with wind in the area are reasons for the ban, Schroeder said.
There is no set time for the burn ban to be lifted.
