The news that Oregon junior defensive lineman Sam Kamp was retiring from the game of football made it clear Tuesday that the Ducks could use another wide body in the middle of the defense.

It didn’t take the program long to find one.

Scout three-star defensive end Gary Baker committed to Oregon on Tuesday evening during an in-home visit with coach Mark Helfrich, defensive coordinator Don Pellum, defensive line coach Ron Aiken and linebacker coach Erik Chinander.

“I just love the coaches and it’s a great school as a whole,” Baker said via Twitter message.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman, out of Upland, California, held offers from Arizona State, Fresno State, Nevada, UNLV and others.

Oregon currently has 21 known commitments in the class of 2015 – a group that ranks No. 15 in the country, according to Rivals.
