PORTLAND, Ore. — Hanjin is pulling out of the Port of Portland, but will continue to service the region sending containers through Seattle and down by rails or trucks.

North Portland’s Overlook neighborhood is sandwiched between Interstate 5 and train tracks.

The increased traffic through both those avenues may mean more noise to the neighborhood.

“The thing that probably freaked me out the most was that it was such a big loss of jobs,” said Bill Kalapsa, who’s lived in the neighborhood for 28 years.

“I can see why Portland isn’t as attractive shipping wise but rail wise yeah,” Gordon Parks, who’s lived in Overlook for 30 years.
