A man in his mid-30s was injured in the back around 8:30 p.m. in North Portland, initiating a 19-vehicle response from the Portland Police Bureau.

At least one gunshot had been fired in the area, but the bureau believes the man’s injuries could have been caused by a knife.

The man, who the bureau said suffered non-life threatening injuries, was transported to the Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, a Portland Fire and Rescue spokesman said.

The bureau does not believe the incident was gang-related.

No other details were immediately available.
