Marijuana Dispensary In Hoboken Gets State Approval – Patch.com
HOBOKEN, NJ — The company Terrapin on Tuesday night received state approval to open its long awaited medical marijuana dispensary in Hoboken, around the corner from the Hoboken train station.
The approval from the state’s New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission was the last step in the process allowing Terrapin to open in the city. The Hoboken Planning Board had approved the project in October.
Terrapin has partnered in the location with Joseph Castelo, a Hoboken resident, filmmaker, and co-owner of Antique Bar and Bakery, in the venture.
The company expects to finish construction and open in six months.
“This is good news for the Hoboken residents and local patients,” said Mayor Ravi Bhalla, “who will reap the benefits of not only increased access to medical cannabis, but also new revenues the city will collect through our medical cannabis transfer tax.”
