NE Portland gang-related shooting injures 1, police say – OregonLive.com
Police are investigating a gang-related shooting in Northeast Portland that injured one person Friday afternoon.
Police were called to Northeast 18th Avenue and Rosa Parks Way shortly after 3 p.m. after shots were heard.
Officers found a home damaged by gunfire in the 6400 block of Northeast 18th Avenue, said Sgt. Pete Simpson, Portland police spokesman.
Witnesses told police that a man was shooting at a green car stopped on the corner, Simpson said. The car sped away and the shooter ran off, police said. A gunshot victim was taken to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center for treatment, Simpson said.
The suspect was described as a man in his late 20s or early 30s wearing black clothing. He was last seen carrying a gun as he ran northbound on Northeast 17th Avenue from Highland Street.
