Oregon will play Ohio State in the National Championship game on Jan. 12. Despite the fact that Oregon had a statement win in their 59-20 rout of Florida State in the Rose Bowl, history is on Ohio State’s side in this series, who defeated Alabama 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl.

Jan. 1, 2010 – Ohio State’s most recent win over Oregon came in the 2010 Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes took the game, 26-17.

Sept. 19, 1987 – Ohio State gave Oregon their first loss of the 1987 season after both teams entered the game 1-0. The Buckeyes won by a score of 24-14.

Sept. 10, 1983 – Ohio State got their first win of the 1983 season with a 31-6 victory over Oregon.

Oct. 5, 1968 – The Buckeyes gave the Ducks their third loss of the 1968 season when they defeated them, 21-6, in this matchup.

Oct. 7, 1967 – Ohio State got their first win of the season as they handed Oregon their fourth loss of the season. It came in the form of a 30-0 shutout in this 1967 meeting. This is also the only true-road game Ohio State has played against Oregon.

Nov. 17, 1962 – In this 1962 matchup, Ohio State’s win kept them from falling to .500 after entering the game with a 4-3 record. The won the game 26-7, and Oregon dropped to 6-2.

Nov. 18, 1961 – Ohio State avoided their first loss of the 1961 with a 22-12 win over Oregon. The Buckeyes entered this game 6-0-1.

Jan. 1, 1958 – The first-ever meeting between these two teams came in the 1958 Rose Bowl. Ohio State won the game 10-7.
