Portland Metro Thursday Traffic: Tree falls onto US 26 at Jefferson exit … – OregonLive.com
A pre-6 a.m. six car crash closed all lanes of Highway 30 east of Scappoose this morning. As of 6:15, the eastbound lanes had re-opened and westbound traffic was getting by using a turn lane. ODOT estimates the highway will complete re-open about 7 a.m.
Update 6:40 a.m.; All lanes now open at the scene of this crash just east of Scappoose.
This morning’s streets are much drier (if not colder) than yesterday. There might still be patches of black ice, especially in shaded and sheltered areas, on overpasses and on shaded hills. Drive carefully and expect anything that looks “wet” to be ice.
ST. JOHNS BRIDGE 8:05 a.m.; Rollover crash southbound on the ramp to Highway 30 from the St. Johns Bridge. Fire crews asking for all lanes to be closed.
U.S. 26 AT THE ZOO 7:57 a.m.; A tree has falling into the eastbound lanes of U.S. 26 prior to the Jefferson Street onramp closing the highway. Traffic is currently blocked in both directions.
Update 9:25 a.m.; ONE EASTBOUND LANE now OPEN. All westbound lanes open.
FREMONT BRIDGE 7:34 a.m.; Disabled vehicle blocks the right lane southbound I-405 on the top deck of the Fremont. Watch for slowing.
Update 7:50 a.m.; Cleared.
SOUTHEAST PORTLAND 6:15 a.m.; Police activity at Southeast 139th Avenue and Mill Street (near Stark Street). Expects streets in the area to be closed.
It’s also the morning of New Year’s Eve, we expect traffic volume to be fairly low. Careful out there. This morning, and tonight.
