Yesterday’s rain left Portland streets wet and last night’s cold now has them icy. Expect very slick conditions all over the city, but especially in North Portland and Vancouver northward as freezing fog has settled in this morning and caused numerous crashes and spin outs.

WEST HILLS BUS ROUTES 18, 63 at 8:20 a.m.; Lines #18, #63 cancelled until the ice melts.

WEST UNION 8:00 a.m.; Crews with a crash at West Union and Cornelius Pass Road. West Union is currently blocked westbound.

FOREST GROVE 7:36 a.m.; Crash reported on Highway 47 at Purdin/Verboort Road.

BEAVERTON 6:50 a.m.; Crash reported on Southwest Jenkins Street and Murray Boulevard (near Nike). Responders on the way.

Update 7:18 a.m.; Cleared.

MAX RED AND BLUE LINES 6:42 a.m.; MAX Red and Blue lines experiencing 20 minute delays due to earlier mechanical issue in Hillsboro. Delays through 7:30 a.m. (or later… )

NORTH PORTLAND 6:20 a.m.; Police and fire are with the rollover crash at North Greeley Avenue just south of Going Street. Vehicle on its side into a power pole.

FAIRVIEW/GRESHAM 6:10 a.m.; Vehicle left the road on 223rd just north of Sandy Boulevard.

UPDATE 6:39 a.m.; 223rd is CLOSED from Sandy to Marine Drive until de-icer can be applied.

DOWNTOWN 6:00 a.m.; Earlier crash I-84 westbound to the I-5 northbound onramp partially blocked. Tow is with the vehicles now. Should clear soon.

Update 6:10 a.m.; Tow cleared the vehicles. Backup remains back to Lloyd Center exit.

Woodland drivers are reporting “a skating rink, and not a fun one” on the freeways and roads in that area. Vancouver had numerous pre-6 a.m. crashes on SR 500 and SR 14.

An I-5 driver spun out at the Terwilliger curves at 5 a.m. and partially blocked the right lane northbound.

Highway 30 between Linnton and North Portland is reported to be VERY slick. Use caution there.

Temperatures should warm above freezing once the sun comes up, but take extra care in shaded areas.
