Fanendo Adi, the Portland Timbers forward who led the team in goals last season, is the subject of trade rumors heating up around the world.

Adi, 25, apparently is being sought by Scotland’s Celtic and Rubin Kazan in Russia, along with Cardiff City and others, according to the Danish publication BT. (Pro tip — brush up on your Danish.)

The Rubin Kazan rumor includes a figure —€ 2.4 million — which has been declined:

HITC Sport, noting the Danish story, calls Adi a “big Nigerian striker” who has “become one of the most dangerous goalscorers in Major League Soccer” and that story also includes other purported financial offers.

Adi scored 16 goals for the Timbers in their march to the 2015 MLS Cup Championship. After a slow start, he became a physical force at the top of the formation. He has scored 25 goals in 57 regular-season games and he scored twice in six playoff games.

Should the Timbers let Adi go?
