Raritan Borough to Reconsider Ordinance Regarding Potential Locations for Medical Marijuana Dispensary – TAPinto.net
RARITAN, NJ – The Raritan Borough Council has until August to propose rules about the retail of recreational cannabis throughout the borough.
Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill legalizing the recreational use of cannabis for adults in New Jersey in February. New Jersey municipalities have 180 days following the enactment of the law to create additional rules specific to their towns.
Without setting rules for Raritan Borough by ordinance to prohibit, limit or restrict cannabis establishments, businesses meeting state guidelines would be permitted to open retail establishments in the commercial zone of town, said borough attorney Bill Robertson.
