PORTLAND, Ore. — Police are searching for a bank robber with slicked-back hair and a stylish scarf, after he fled with stolen cash from a Key Bank in Northeast Portland Thursday afternoon.

The Key Bank located at 3839 Northeast Broadway was robbed just before 12:30 p.m. and the crook was captured on camera. He was wearing a black jacket with a hood (or possible hoodie underneath), black jeans, and a black and white scarf.

Employees told police the man was white, about 5-foot-10, and appeared to be in his 20s with a medium build. They said he “implied a weapon as he demanded money,” according to Sgt. Pete Simpson with the Portland Police Bureau.

“After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect ran out of the bank and was last seen running through the parking lot,” Simpson added.

Several officers checked the neighborhood but did not locate anyone matching the suspect’s description.

Now investigators are hoping someone will recognize the man in the surveillance photo and tip them off. Anyone with information about the robbery was encouraged to contact the Portland FBI office at 503-224-4181 or Detective Brett Hawkinson at 503-823-1080.
