Shango chain of medical marijuana dispensaries expands to Hillsboro – OregonLive.com
The Shango chain of medical marijuana dispensaries announced that it will open a location in Hillsboro on July 1.
The dispensary will be at 1775 S.E. Tualatin Valley Highway, Building A.
Shango already operates two dispensaries in Portland. Co-owners Brandon Rexroad and Shane McKee said in a press release that they have partnered with Hillsboro businessman Adrian Perte to open their newest outlet.
“As an entrepreneur and as a member of the Hillsboro community, I’ve never been this excited to start a business,” Perte said in the press release. “I knew that Shango was the right medical marijuana dispensary for our town after I met with Brandon and Shane. Their cultivation, packaging and retail operations are ran [sic] like a Fortune 500 company. From top to bottom, Shango is excellence.”
July 1 happens to be the day when it will become legal for residents to possess recreational marijuana under the Measure 91 law passed in November.
The Hillsboro City Council approved zoning regulations for medical marijuana dispensaries in April, after more than a year of debate.
Hillsboro city spokesman Patrick Preston said the planning department would likely grant land-use approval to Shango on Wednesday or Thursday.
