Woman dies in SE Portland house fire

PORTLAND, Ore. – A woman died in a house fire in Southeast Portland late Friday night, firefighters said.

Fire crews were called to the burning home at 4622 S.E. 86th Ct. just before midnight. Emergency dispatchers received a report of a person trapped inside the house, according to Terry Foster with Portland Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters found the victim, a woman in her 50s, and pulled her out of the house, but they were unable to save her, Foster said. She died at the scene.

Crews put out the fire and prevented it from spreading to neighboring homes.

Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.

Neighbors told KGW the woman’s dog also died in the fire.
